What is it?
Radiators play the main role of keeping your engine at a temperature which is not too hot and not too cold. The internal combustion engines are cooled with engine coolant through the engine block. The radiator is essentially connected to channels through the engine and cylinder head, where coolant is pumped throughout.
Why to get it repaired/checked?
It is important to assess your vehicles temperature next to your speedometer. A temperature gauge with the pin sitting higher than usual would suggest an issue with your cooling system. This could be a case of boiling or overheating, resulting in severe damage such as a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder heads or cylinder blocks.
WARNING: If this issue does come to your attention, do not try to open the radiator cap to let off steam as hot liquid and steam will eject dangerously.
